One of the most imaginative and beautifully written pieces of have read lately. As I just lost my husband, I treasure the photographs of him, especially the last one, despite his ravaged body. Norma Rowland

Truly, your piece stayed with me. I love the layers of it. My father would have enjoyed it too. He loved his vintage cameras and social history

Thanks so much. I love to explore the story of old cameras. There’s a connection to parts of history you just don’t get with the modern equipment (though that old equipment can be finicky). Do you know what cameras your father used?

Thanks, Shawn. As you can imagine, I'm still working the kinks out of that camera. I've discovered it's light thirsty (for whatever reasons), meaning I have to calculate exposure then increase it by one extra stop. These photos had about a half stop of extra light. I probably should have done more, but you live and learn.
