Thanks so much. I appreciate the comments, and mostly I just try to write the opposite of my masculine inclinations.
And no, I haven’t read Peace Like a River. @Shawn Smucker keeps trying to get me to read it, and one day I will. Mostly because Shawn said so. But I’m currently working my way through some old Vonnegut, and it’ll take me through at least mid-year. Then I have some old DF Wallace to get to, which probably makes me a little bit of a Bro or something. At least, according to modern literary tastes.
Anyhow, I really appreciate your reading this little story. A new installment is coming today or tomorrow!
What do you want? It’s the question that haunts. We know when the answer is too small- but we also know if we go big, the reality will also be small- even when everything we wanted is within reach. So we try again… and then again.
Seth, you write women very well. I suspect this is due to you being an open-hearted man with the good sense to be in awe of womanhood.
Have you ever read the novel Peace Like a River by Leif Enger? I’m currently reading for the first time and think you would love it.

This is the question that keeps me up at night. Has for years, maybe decades.
Always, your story telling a marvel! Does not disappoint! Love your timing, your weaving, your emergence into another's memory.
Thank you so so much! New installment coming today or tomorrow (likely tomorrow morning).
