What is the conundrum of the storyteller? Some stories are scandalous, incriminating, problematic for the characters who populate them. Some stories hug the line of truth and gossip. Some stories make us accessories to a crime or a white lie, others put a scarlet letter or a mug-shot number on the chest.

To skirt the sin of speaking ill of others, to work around the storyteller’s conundrum, I’ll turn to a modern allegory: Arkansas’ nuclear power plant, Nuclear 1.
