Where can we hide from the anxiety of the age?

This is how the world feels: a tremoring hand; a catch in the throat; the throbbing of neck veins. Viruses travel on tufts of breath. Rocks fly from the mouths of self-made martyrs. Every fact of science a potential fiction. Every fiction a potential fact. Left and Right have become pejorative slurs instead of ways to turn at a stop sign. Conspiracies come from damn-near everywhere. A Christian Instagrammer tells me the moon-landing was fake and the world might be flat and JFK was likely assassinated by the government and over 9,000 people agree.

And so it goes.

Have our natures shape-shifted? Can anything true come from them? Have the winds changed directions?
